Doughnuts


RECIPE

DOUGHNUT

INGREDIENTS

All purpose flour (Maida)-1 cup
Powdered sugar-3/4 cup
Baking Powder-1 teaspoon
Baking Soda-1/2 teaspoon
Melted Butter or Ghee-1/4 cup
Curd-2 tablespoons or Egg-1 no.
Vanilla Essence-1 teaspoon
Oil

FOR CHOCOLATE DOUGHNUT

Cocoa powder-1 tablespoon

🍩 Knead the dough well until its soft (Add maida if the dough is too watery or water if it is too dry)
🍩 Apply some oil, cover the dough and leave it to set for an hour and a half or so.
🍩 After an hour uncover the dough and knead it again for a minute or two.
🍩 Now roll the dough flat with a rolling pin.
🍩 The dough should not be too thin and must have some thickness for it to turn out nice and fluffy.
🍩 Cut out the shape of a doughnut using cookie cutters if you have them or just use two different sized round objects like a bowl or cup.
🍩 Now heat some oil and fry the doughnuts over a medium flame for about 4 to 5 mins till they are golden brown.

GLAZE

INGREDIENTS

Milk Chocolate or White Chocolate-100 g
Milk depending upon the consistency

🍩 Melt the ingredients in the microwave or over the stove by placing the bowl over boiling water. (If the mixture gets too runny add more chocolate or milk if it gets too stiff)
🍩 Now pour the glaze over the doughnuts and add sprinkles or toppings as per your preference.
🍩 You can put them in the fridge if you want as they taste better chilled.
🍩 You can also use any ready-made chocolate spread like Nutella instead of the glaze. 

P.S. If there is any dough leftover, store it in an airtight container and reuse it later.
